What Is a Cat Café?

A little different from what you might expect...

At Munchies, we believe that truly loving cats also means allowing them to be cats.

Our eight resident rescue cats call Munchies their home. They are not here to perform or entertain. They have their own personalities, routines, favourite sleeping spots and, just like us, days when they feel social and days when they simply want some space.

That means every visit can be different.

A cat might curl up beside you. They might come over for a stroke or decide they want to play. Or they might spend your entire visit peacefully snoozing across the room. And that’s perfectly okay.

So, what should you expect?

Think of Munchies as a relaxed café where cats happen to live, rather than somewhere you come specifically to play with cats.

Grab a drink, order something delicious, get comfortable and enjoy being in their company.

You are welcome to say hello, interact with them when they choose to engage and enjoy those lovely spontaneous moments. We simply ask that you don't arrive with the expectation that the cats must interact with you.

Sometimes the best way to love a cat is simply to sit beside them 🧡

We want Munchies to feel calm, cosy and unhurried.

It isn't a playground or a petting experience. During your visit, we encourage you to settle into your seat, chat with friends, enjoy your food and drinks, and let the cats decide when they'd like to join you.

By giving them that choice, we can provide our rescue cats with something incredibly important: a real home where they feel safe, respected and in control of their own space.

And when a cat chooses to come and sit beside you?

That makes the moment even more special 🐱

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to create a place where people can enjoy the wonderful presence of cats without compromising their welfare.

Every booking helps us provide our resident cats with lifelong care, daily essentials, enrichment and veterinary support while giving them a safe and loving home.

So when you visit Munchies, you're not just visiting a cat café.

You're visiting their home.
