For Our Younger Cat Lovers 🐾

Munchies Craft Cat Café welcomes guests aged 8 and over.

We know that when you hear “cat café”, it can sound like the perfect place for children of all ages. However, there’s an important reason why we have a minimum age policy.

Why is Munchies 8+?

We know a cat café can sound like the perfect place for young children. However, Munchies is a little different.

Our cats are rescue cats, and Munchies is their home. We have made a lifelong commitment to care for them and provide a calm, safe and comfortable environment where their welfare always comes first.

Our café is designed for guests to sit back, relax and enjoy simply sharing a space with our cats. It isn’t a playground, and we can never promise that a cat will want to play, be stroked or interact during a visit.

For younger children, we understand that sitting quietly for a full café session can sometimes be difficult. It can also be disappointing when the cats simply decide they would rather snooze! For these reasons, our regular Cat Café has a minimum age of 8.

But we don’t want our younger cat lovers to miss out! 🧡

We believe children should have opportunities to learn about cats, spend time around them and develop an understanding of how to interact with animals respectfully.

That’s why our partner venue, Purrfect Space, hosts our Younger Artists Art Club, specially designed for young artists aged 7+.

The children can enjoy a creative activity while calmly sharing the space with our rescue cats. Rather than expecting them to simply sit quietly, they have something fun and engaging to focus on, develop their creativity and enjoy having the cats around them at the same time.

We run the club at least once a month, and it’s our recommended way for younger children to experience a cat-filled environment.
